Sanaynay’s Week 14 Waiver Wire

Week 14 Waiver Wire

Note: Every suggestion will be pulled from either the Yahoo or ESPN rostership, and everyone in these articles will be less than 50% rostered on at least one of those sites. Only some leagues are cut and dry the same so this is just a template for a 12 team full PPR league. There may be players that would have made this article but are rostered in over 50% of the leagues on both sites so they were not included because you’re either in a smaller league or bigger league. If you have questions, please get in chat and ask. Going forward, I will list the bye week schedule below as it is going to become more important as we plan for that moving forward.

Week 5: DET, LAC, PHI, TEN

Week 6: KC, LAR, MIA, MIN

Week 7: CHI, DAL

Week 8: NONE

Week 9: PIT, SF

Week 10: CLE, GB, LV, SEA

Week 11: ARI, CAR, NYG, TB

Week 12: ATL, BUF, CIN, JAX, NO, NYJ

Week 13: NONE

Week 14: BAL, DEN, HOU, IND, NE, WAS

QB

Will Levis (Tennessee Titans) – 0%

Next man who gets a shot at the horrible Jaguars secondary. I’ll most certainly be on this offense come Sunday but in terms of fantasy, the Jaguars have allowed the most (tied) fantasy PPG this year to opposing QBs at 26 per game. They have allowed the highest YPA (8.36) and 3rd most rushing yards to opposing QBs.

Russell Wilson (Pittsburgh Steelers) – 0%

Coming off of a surgical performance in Week 13, Russell and the Steelers will host the Browns in Week 14. I have concerns with the gameflow of htis game and I expect the Steelers to be able to comfortably run a normal plan and stick to mainly the ground game but we can’t ignore Russ’ floor. He has at least 13.8 in all but one start this year and is now averaging 17.3 PPG. He has displayed a ceiling with two games now at 24.9 and 26.9.

Adian O’Connell (LV Raiders) – 0%

AOC is a pocket passer and is going to face a ton of pressure in this game but given the QB landscape, I’ll take a shot on AOC this week. The Bucs have allowed the most fantasy PPG to opposing QBs with the Jaguars at 26 PPG as well. They have allowed the third most passing yards (3,308) and T7th most Passing TDs (21). Expect Bowers and Meyers to go off with AOC.

RB

Isaac Gueredno (San Francisco 49ers) – 100%

This one goes without saying as he will be the replacement in the backfield for star RB, Christian McCaffrey. Guerdeno is quick and great on the ground, with speed to hit the edges and hit a homerun every touch. He will face off against the Chicago Bears in Week 14, a defense we watched get gashed on the ground by the Lions in Week 13 and hold many Bottom 10 rush defense statistics. With that, they are allowing the 10th most PPG to opposing RBs this year (24.1).

Sincere McCormick (LV Raiders) – 3%

McCormick probably stole the RB job for the Raiders in Week 13. He ended up being outsnapped by Ameer Abdullah 62% to 38% but Abdullah got the start and most of the passing snaps. However, McCormick had 48% of the rush attempts to Abdullah’s 40% and was the back they turned to when driving late to secure the FG to win it (refs lol). He has the highest immediate ceiling and clearest path of any RB left on waivers not named Jordan Mason. The Raiders play a tough Bucs team in Week 14 but end the season facing the Falcons, Jaguars and Saints, all plus matchups.

Tank Bigsby (Jacksonville Jaguars) – 3%

In Week 13, Bigsby and Etienne had almost a split backfield even though the Jaguars were playing from behind most of the second half. Bigsby actually had a higher route participation (47% to 38%) than Etienne but Etienne had a higher TPPR (18% to 5%). Bigsby is a better runner than Etienne so while it may be wishful thinking, I expect Bigsby to close the gap in terms of rushing usage as Etienne beat out Bigsby 59% to 32% in Week 13. The Jaguars next four opponents aren’t flashy on paper, giving the expectation the Jaguars will stay in these games and won’t be blown out. They face the Titans, Jets, Raiders, and then Titans again to run out the fantasy season.

Handcuffs – 0%

There isn’t much else out there in terms of RBs so I’d turn my attention to the handcuff pool even though we are running thin with weeks left.

Top RB Handcuffs

  • Braelon Allen (New York Jets)
  • Blake Corum (LA Rams)
  • Zach Charbonnet (Seattle Seahawks)
  • Tyler Allgeier (Atlanta Falcons)
  • Ray Davis (Buffalo Bills)
  • Cam Akers (Minnesota Vikings)
  • Kenneth Gainwell (Philadelphia Eagles)
  • Jimani Vidal (LA Chargers)
  • Jeremy McNichols (Washington Commanders)
  • Devin Singletary (New York Giants)
  • Audric Estime (Denver Broncos)
  • Jerome Ford (Cleveland Browns)
  • Trey Benson (Arizona Cardinals)
  • Sean Tucker (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
  • Roschon Johnson (Chicago Bears)
  • Dameon Pierce (Houston Texans)
  • Jalen Wright (Miami Dolphins)
  • Antonio Gibson (New England Patriots)
  • Emanuel Wilson (Green Bay Packers)
  • Ezekiel Elliott (Dallas Cowboys)
  • Tyler Goodson (Indianapolis Colts)

WR

Adam Thielen (Carolina Panthers) – 15%

I guess Thielen isn’t cooked. He has looked great almost every game he has been active for and continues to impress. He is coming off of a 23.9 PPR performance, catching eight of 10 targets for 99 yards and a score with another score cleaned off on a very controversial call. Even though he was behind Legette and Moore in route participation (78%) he led the team with a 26% TPRR and 25% target share. The Panthers have a tough one in Week 14 but Bryce Young has leaned heavily on the veteran and I expect him to do that again in this one. After that the Panthers play the Cowboys, Cardinals, and Bucs again to close out the season.

Parker Washington (Jacksonville Jaguars) – 10%

It is clear that Mac Jones has taken a liking to Washington as he finishes with a 29% TPRR in Week 13’s loss to the Texans. He led the Jaguars with a 91% route participation, catching six of his 12 targets for 103 yards and a score. As I mentioned above with Bigsby, the Jaguars face the Titans in Week 13 followed by the Jets, Raiders and Titans again to close out the year.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (Tennessee Titans) – 0%

40% of this man’s receptions have gone for TDs so it is hard to rely on him but the Titans face the Jaguars in Week 14, giving him a great chance at continuing this trend. On top of that, he had a 100% route participation with a 18% TPRR in Week 13. The Jaguars are allowing the 4th most PPG (38.7) to opposing WRs entering Week 14 while also allowing the 2nd most YPT (9.30).

Ricky Pearsall (San Francisco 49ers) – 0%

You can get Pearsall for nothing on this go around because he is coming off of a string of underperforming games. He only has 1 target the last two games but during that span he still has a 73% route participation. We can throw last week’s game in the garbage given it was a true snow game and the 49ers looked like they couldn’t wait to go home. With their season spiraling and slipping away from them and their backfield is shambles, we could see Pearsall see a bump in usage all over the field.

TE

Dalton Schultz (Houston Texans) – 10%

This one is going to sound weird being 1st because the Texans have a Bye in Week 14 but Schultz’ schedule is gravy in the playoffs. The three final opponents for the Texans will be the Miami Dolphins (home), Kansas City Chiefs (KC), and Baltimore Ravens (home). The Dolphins allow the 11th most receiving yards to opposing TEs with the Chiefs allowing the most and Ravens 2nd most. Schultz is entering the Texans Bye week with a 71% route participation and 26% TPRR and a season high 17.1 PPR points, catching five of his seven targets for 61 yards and a score.

Grant Calcaterra (Philadelphia Eagles) – 0%

In a landscape where it is hard to find differentiating players, Calcaterra may offer that if Dallas Goedert misses. Goedert left Sunday’s win over the Ravens in the 4th and didn’t return. As of today, we won’t have an update but the Eagles host the Panthers in Week 14, a defense giving up the most PPR PPG (17.3), the 7th most YPG (63) and most YPT (9.09) to opposing TEs this year.

Noah Gray (Kansas City Chiefs) – 0%

Yet another game logged for Gray, who saw a 52% route participation and a 22% TPRR, finishing with four snags on six targets for 58, good for 9.8 PPR points.

DST

Miami Dolphins – 0%

The Dolphins blitz 24.5% of the time which is 12th most in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers is a shell of his former self in terms of mobility and if he even has the feeling of pressure, he’s cooked. On top of that, Miami has the quickest Time To Pressure (2.5 seconds) in the NFL. Good luck, Mr. Rodgers.

Buffalo Bills – 0%

I’m going with my eyes on this one and they are telling me the Bills can get after the QB while Matthew Stafford is struggling. He has been tough to watch under pressure and the Rams OL is not gelling the way many of us expected which has caused Stafford to look way off recently. If they get to Stafford, expect another tough game for the Rams passing attack.

Tennessee Titans – 0%

The Titans will host the Jaguars in Week 14, an offense that will be without QB Trevor Lawrence. I’ll go up against Mac Jones and the nose diving Jaguars offense any day of the week.
